STRAIGHT STAIRLIFT

The Acorn 130 is the latest evolution of Acorn’s original straight stairlift, the ‘Superglide’. It’s called a straight stairlift because it runs on a straight rail and is designed to be installed on a straight flight of stairs, with no bends or turns. A straight stairlift is the easiest to install and also the most affordable type. That’s because the straight rail is mass-produced and only needs to be cut to length. A number of options and modifications make it suitable for the vast majority of straight staircases. The Acorn 130 has been continually developed and refined over almost 30 years.

STRAIGHT UP, IT’S A GREAT SOLUTION

Stairlifts have two main components – the carriage (the part your ride on) and the rail, which the carriage travels up and down, controlled by the passenger. Like all Acorn Stairlifts, the 130 Straight uses a single unobtrusive rail, which is fixed to the stairs, not the wall. That means there’s no need for messy and disruptive structural work such as drilling into plaster and masonry. In most cases, you won’t even need to lift the stairs carpet. Installation of an Acorn 130 Straight Stairlift usually takes around an hour and can be arranged next day if urgency is essential.

Acorn’s 130 Straight Stairlift carriage is among the most compact available, making it ideal for narrower staircases. Its maximum carrying capacity is 300lbs (19.9st), but an uprated version is available with an increased capacity of 350lbs (25st).
