THE THREE MAIN TYPES OF STAIRLIFT

The type of stairlift you need is determined by the type of stairs it will be installed on. The three main types are Straight, Curved and Outdoor Stairlift. The first type is for stairs which run in a straight line, with no bends or turns. The second type is for any ‘non-straight’ stairs which move through bends or turns, and the third type is for stairs which are outside the home.

A ‘Virtual Survey’ is one carried out over the telephone, without the need to visit your home in person. The simple step-by-step process was developed by Acorn Stairlifts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. If you opt for a Virtual Survey, you’ll be guided by a stairlift expert to submit key dimensions and characteristics of your stairs. This option is best suited to less complex stairs and you can still opt for a COVID-safe in-person visit if you’d prefer it.
